Ongoing weekly strike action by CWU workers at Royal Mail have led to last-posting dates for pre-Christmas delivery being moved back significantly compared to previous years. Please place your orders as soon as possible to ensure enough time for them to travel through the postal network and arrive with you, and no later than the dates quoted below.
DPD services are also subject to delay in some postcode areas, and have resulted in an earlier last posting date for some locations too.
For UK mainland deliveries: The last recommended posting date for pre-Christmas delivery via Royal Mail are as follows: Royal Mail Special Delivery - Wednesday December 21st Royal Mail 24 Tracked - Monday December 19th Royal Mail 48 Tracked - Friday December 16th Royal Mail 48 - Monday December 12th (deliveries on this service are particularly subject to delay during the strike action as they are not prioritied by the post office) Please ensure your order is placed by 2pm for same-day despatch.
For delivery via DPD Local our last posting date is Wednesday December 21st for delivery on Thursday December 22nd - Friday December 23rd. Orders placed online that miss despatch on Thursday December 22nd will be sent on Friday December 23rd, and not arrive until Wednesday December 28th. Please ensure your order is placed by 2pm for same-day despatch. DPD services to a limited number of postcodes are subject to delay, and affected postcodes have a last posting date of Monday December 19th to ensure ample time for items to arrive. For UK Highlands & Islands deliveries: Your last ordering date is Friday December 16th by 2pm – deliveries to some postcodes in these areas can take up to 3 working days, so to ensure you receive your items in time, please get your orders to us as soon as you can. This applies to all delivery carriers offered.
For European Union deliveries: Standard & Registered Airmail have a last posting date advertised by the post office between Monday December 5th and Friday December 9th, depending on which country you are in, so as long as you order by 2pm on these dates, you should still receive your parcel in time, but we cannot guarantee this. Please check royalmail.com to see which date band your specific country falls in, or contact us for further information. DPD International has a last posting date advertised as Friday December 16th for Western Europe, and Tuesday December 13th for Eastern Europe. Please ensure your order is placed by 2pm for same-day despatch.
For Rest of World deliveries: We have advertised our last online order date as Friday November 25th, however you can still order from us after November 25th and might still receive your parcel in time for Christmas. With most Rest of World locations, the slowest parcels are the larger ones containing items like houses and other buildings, for example. These must be despatched no later than November 25th to get them to you in time.
Parcels sent via Standard & Registered Airmail can be shipped much later and should still arrive in time. The post office advertise the following dates as last-posting for Christmas for these countries: Monday November 28th: Australia, New Zealand & China Thursday December 1st: Africa, Asia (excluding China), Far East, South America Monday December 5th: Canada & USA Therefore you could order up to 2pm on the dates above for your standard & registered airmail items, and still receive your parcel in time for Christmas, but we cannot guarantee this.
